Holding a trip costs nothing and commits you to nothing. There is no card on file and nothing to cancel — reply to the email or ignore it.
You pay each operator directly at the time of service. Havaro saves a card through Stripe to guarantee the reservation, and charges it only for a qualifying late cancellation or no-show — the situations where an operator has held capacity they could have sold to somebody else.
The same scale the checkout shows you, counted from the first day of the trip. Cancelling in Havaro cancels every part of the trip in one action, rather than making you contact four businesses.
| When you cancel | What it costs |
|---|---|
| 30 days or more before | Free |
| 30 to 14 days before | 25% of the booking |
| 14 to 7 days before | 50% of the booking |
| Inside 7 days | The full amount |
Where an operator’s own terms are kinder, theirs apply; they are shown on the listing before you add it and repeated on your itinerary.
Weather, unsafe conditions, insufficient snow or a mechanical failure — you are refunded that portion in full, automatically, and the rest of your trip is untouched. You do not have to chase it, and you do not lose the weekend because one part of it fell over.
Ontario rules restrict when and how a price increase can be imposed after a contract is made. Where a cumulative increase exceeds 7%, you will generally have the right to cancel and receive a full refund. We will state any such right on the booking rather than leaving you to find it.
Email hello@havaro.ca with your reference and we will sort it with the operators directly. Self-service changes come later; a human answering the same day comes first.
